The Senior Web Producer is responsible for all aspects of the station’s web sites, including but not limited to producing news content including text, photos and videos; streaming of newscasts and live news events; monitoring the web site for quality control purposes, and creating special sections that feature news, special interest and advertising content.  In addition, the Senior Web Producer: supervises the team of Web Producers; works with the Web Sales Manager to generate and maintain sponsored online content; works with National Editorial and Sales team to manage all production/quality aspects of the station’s web sites; conceptualizes and produces high profile creative online material; performs duties of online writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing, and editorial newsgathering; facilitates the editorial gathering of compelling web material using information from various sources and contacts; works with newsroom editorial managers to integrate broadcast and online newsgathering to facilitate the delivery of content using new distribution platforms; ensures websites are coded to standards consistent with web style set by the National Team. Must have a Bachelors degree plus 2-3 years of web production experience preferred; expert knowledge of web production, traffic reporting and ad serving systems; solid understanding of web standards, design and usability; knowledge of common web and application architectures; knowledge of print and broadcast newsroom standards and styles; understanding of user online behavior; highly skilled in all areas of a/v digitizing, editing and encoding techniques; advanced knowledge of internet publishing software and content management systems; position demands excellent print/web writing, web editing, interface design and web production skills; handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment; excellent communication skills; ability to work under pressure as a cohesive member of a team; knowledge of HTML, JSP, FLASH and Photoshop.
