Technical skills used in this role will be Java, JSP, Javascript, HTML, XML, Tomcat, WebSphere, Webtrends etc. This role requires an individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well independently.  The position is in Stamford. Shuttle buses run from the train station to the client site. SENIOR WEB DEVELOPER

Responsibilities
-Responsible for enhancing the CLIENT websites and associated micro sites to meet the functionality, design, branding of the CLIENT business and marketing teams from technical design through to build, unit testing, integration testing, performance testing and deployment in compliance with web technical standards, CLIENT I.T. processes and marketing design & branding
-Responsible in publishing new content to the existing web sites either manually via the database/software or via tools as they exist in accordance with existing SLA's and in compliance with the approval processes currently defined by CLIENT
-Responsible in supporting the publication of content in support of the CLIENT Earnings calls and press releases which are time sensitive and highly visible both internal and external
-Responsible for working with marketing and graphics designer to ensure designs will fit the technical implementation and provide a good user experience
-Work towards transitioning the CLIENT sites technically to take advantage of Google search engine optimization for the key search engines
-Work towards transitioning the CLIENT sites architecture, working together with the architect, to embrace a more robust web content management solution for all key sites.
-Involved with Technical Design and validation of Technical solutions (where they may be provided by another internal resource or 3rd party)
-Responsible for the technical project plan & its execution (actions, resources & skills, estimates, status)
-May be involved with delegating & supervision of any technical work to tech resources (internally or externally). This may involve being a key contact for the offshore vendor in terms of providing them technical spec, direction, review of their work
-Production support, ensuring all production issues are solved and coordinated through the I.T. support teams at CLIENT -Defining and maintaining technical standards, ensuring technical environment is well documented
-Production cutovers and responding to production upgrades that may be needed in support of security patches, operating system patches

Qualifications
-8-10 years of hands-on web development experience utilizing Java, JSP, Javascript, HTML, XML, SQL, Tomcat, WebSphere, WebTrends (.Net a plus)
-Resourcefulness, creativity, and innovative qualities are all an absolute necessity for this role
-Must have proven experience in developing and maintaining a public website for a large corporation (provide site examples)
-Must understand the importance of user experience (aesthetics, graphics, screen flow, color palette)
-Must have an appreciation for the need for compliance to standards and process where they exist and help develop them where they may be lacking
-Must be a team player with solid inter-personal skills, ability to multi-task and collaborate with others to communicate ideas, progress and issues clearly and effectively
-Must have good analytical and debugging skills; systematic approach to programming tasks.
-Must have ability to understand the underlying infrastructure needed to support the CLIENT websites and ensure that its kept up to date working with the Infrastructure teams
-Experience in implementing a web content management tool a plus
Education
BS degree in Computer Science/Related field
Preferred certified Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) and Sun Certified Web Component Developer.
