We are seeking an experienced systems engineer whose primary role will be to provide technical leadership on programs being executed by engineering for developing advanced systems for the US DoD in support of one or more product areas in the Elbit Systems of America Sensors and Electro-optics Solutions business unit. The role will also require the systems engineer to be able to make individual technical contributions to the program.
Principal Responsibilities: In addition to providing technical leadership and individual technical contributions, responsibilities include the following:
1) Providing system concept definition
2) System requirements development and analysis,
3) New technology assessments
4) Evaluation of alternative technical solutions
5) System integration and test.
6) Evaluation of system performance at both the component and system level both via modeling and experimental methods
7) Support of engineering project teams in the preparation of engineering inputs, cost estimates and schedules for proposals.
8) Interfacing with internal and external project teams, company personnel and the customer community.
9) Assisting as needed with new business capture and transition of programs to engineering.
The position will report to the Department Manager of Systems Engineering, an organizational group of the ESA-Merrimack site. The job title will be Principal Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Engineer based upon qualifications and experience.
• Master's degree or higher in engineering or equivalent scientific discipline and at least 12 years experience of applicable progressively complex systems engineering experience, including hardware/software integration of complex systems.
• Extensive knowledge of electro-optics, systems, imaging, development, engineering and associated modeling tools and techniques.
• Direct experience in system-level design with an understanding of mechanics and electronics including system specification flow-down
• Knowledge of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes for one or more areas of technical expertise, and possess creativity and originality sufficient to contribute new inventions, designs or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
• Requires demonstrated experience in the management of a team of engineers and technicians on a project or supervisory basis. Proven experience in the management of significant programs and projects within cost and schedule goals.
• Must be able to obtain a US Secret clearance, so US citizenship is required. An Active Secret clearance is an advantage.
