Join us now as Service Applications Specialist in our Peabody, MA Corporate Office.

Position Description:

Provide applications support for the Service Team and biological customers through demonstrations of TEM to existing and potential customers emphasizing TEM operations and product capabilities. Provide operator training and respond to customer inquiries regarding systems operation. Partner with hardware and software development group to test, debug and improve TEM applications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Promote TEM systems through product demonstrations and training in either the applications lab or at customer sites as requested. Develop techniques for evaluating difficult samples.

 

Provide technical support and training to customers, sales, service and marketing as needed.

 

Research trade journals and attend scientific conferences and trade shows to stay abreast of competitive markets and products.

 

Assist Service Team by maintaining open and effective communications with customers by offering post-sales support, addressing complex customer inquires as necessary and resolving complicated systems problems.

 

Partner with hardware and software development teams to test prerelease versions of hardware and software. Provide feedback to develop and implement new applications.

 

Conduct material characterization research to optimize instrument performance for users.

 

Prepares manuscripts and reports of studies for publication in peer review journals. 

Presents research data and analysis at corporate meetings, client meeting and scientific conferences.  Participate in TEM training programs and attend trade shows.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biology plus 3-5 years related (TEM) microscopy research experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Functional knowledge of JEOL microscopes is a required. (TEM, SEM, FIB, STEM, EDS and EELS spectroscopy and TEM tomography. Product and software development experience required including Visual Basic and .NET.  The successful candidate must be willing to travel to customer sites and trade shows.  The position requires 50 to 75% travel.
