Service Counselor / Call Center Representative

About the Job

Come join AAA Missouri/ St. Louis, in our Roadside Assistance Service Call Center as a Member Service Representative.


Members count on AAA for emergency road service response 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, anywhere in the United States and Canada.  At AAA we pride ourselves on creating members for life by providing prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and respectful service with every call, every time.


We are seeking dedicated individuals who have a strong commitment to customer service, proven communication skills with a diverse customer base, and strong attention to detail. Candidates must also be reliable, enthusiastic in their work and have a proven stable work history.


 


We are currently seeking qualified applicants to fill part-time positions on our day and evening shifts.  These individuals will work 24 hours (3 days) per week with the potential to work into full-time positions.


 


We are also seeking qualified applicants to fill salaried part-time positions on our day, evening and overnight shifts.  These individuals will work 32 hours (4 days) per week also with the potential to work into full-time positions.


 


Applicants must meet or be proficient in the following areas:



  • One or more years of customer service experience.

  • Available to work weekends and holidays.

  • Proficient in Windows based applications.

  • Type at least 28 words per minute.

  • Good geographical knowledge and can utilize AAA maps and/or PC based map programs.

  • Basic automotive knowledge or ability to learn automotive concepts (i.e. automotive trouble shooting and/or problem solving to help get our members back on the road).

  • Able to demonstrate a pleasant and professional tone over the telephone.

  • Ability to respond to a member's emotional state (e.g., calming down someone who is angry, providing reassurance to someone who is fearful, etc.)

  • Effective analytical, written and oral communication skills to enable accurate completion of assignments, proper handling of problem situations and constructive interaction with others.  This includes excellent grammar and vocabulary.

  • Because all Member Service Representatives must adhere to our Call Center attendance policy, excellent attendance is of the highest priority with this position.

  • Successfully complete prescreen testing.
