About the Job

Rudd Equipment Company is recruiting a Service Technician (Field II) to work at our Indianapolis Branch. Duties include but are not limited to:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Must have met the entire Grade I requirements and have a minimum of two working years on construction or mining equipment.

·         Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair simple drive train components and 12 and 24 volt electrical systems.

·         Must be able to perform equipment pre-deliveries with a minimum of supervision.

·         Must have basic hydraulic familiarization and have the ability to perform simple hydraulic system repairs.

·         Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

·         Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximum employee morale and productivity. Consistently and constructively projects the quality philosophy and vision of the company.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

·         Ability to lift and carry weights over 45 lbs.

·         Ability to work effectively with others.

·         Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include standing for extended periods of time and operating assigned equipment and vehicles.

·         Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

·         Ability to operate assigned equipment.

·         Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions. 

             High school diploma or equivalent

·         A combination of documented experience and training substantially equivalent to completion of an apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic.  Factory training courses which cover the following subjects:

                      Basic hydraulic systems

                      Basic 12 and 24 volt electrical systems

                      Basic drive axle theory

                      Torque converter and powershift transmission theory

                      Air conditioning troubleshooting and repair
