This position is located in the Women's Health section of the Clinical Care/Public Health Directorate at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Washington, D.C.
DOD has strict guidelines on Sexual Assault Prevention and Response. BUMED requires a Forensic Nurse Examiner, with a subspecialty in Sexual Assault, to develop training curriculum for education to medical providers, both ashore and afloat. The curriculum would provide instruction on how to
conduct an exam on a potential sexual assault victim to include observation, documentation, and preservation of evidence.
This position would also involve planning the actual deployment and delivery of the sexual assault training module to medical providers, both ashore and afloat, throughout Navy Medicine globally.
Position-specific Required Skills:
Ø Educational Experience: B.S. Nursing; certified as Forensic Nurse Examiner with subspecialty in Sexual Assault.
Ø Years of Experience: At least 3-5 years.
Ø Must possess program management skills in order to support requirements of the Congressionally-mandated program for BUMED.
Ø Must possess ability to provide analyses with Microsoft products to summarize and present information.
Ø Must possess experience in training development.
Ø Must possess experience in training delivery.
Ø Must possess excellent interpersonal, writing and briefing skills. Must also possess the ability to communicate orally and work
collaboratively with other health-related organizations throughout Navy Medicine.
Ø Candidate must be US citizen, with ability to obtain Secret clearance
Position-specific Desired Skills:
Ø Knowledge of Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) and Navy Medicine organization.
