Job Responsibilities/Department description:
Genzyme is looking for an individual with proven analytical and technical skills who will fill the role of technical lead in support of projects that enhance Genzyme's Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Collaboration initiatives.
Candidate will develop strategic plans and provide technical leadership for projects related to the implementation and enhancement of the company's SharePoint and Enterprise Content Management and Collaboration platforms which facilitate effective, efficient and compliant handling of electronic and legacy corporate information assets. This individual must have broad technology experience with passion to create solutions to meet the needs of the global business.
Leadership and architecture experience and skills:
-Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
-Strong ability to translate business requirements to create the appropriate information architecture, taxonomy and solution approach
-Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
-Ability to lead complete software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, configuring, programming and unit testing for SharePoint and related Microsoft technologies
-Experience producing end-user and technical documentation
-Ability to work independently to expand the use of SharePoint to address business issues
-Can mentor others in the department with SharePoint knowledge at a level of understanding appropriate to their job function
Technical SharePoint-specific experience and skills:
-Must possess an in depth understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and SharePoint Designer 2007
-Knowledge must include architectural design, web parts development, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations
-Experience with design and implementation of a redundant and scalable SharePoint infrastructure that supports a global enterprise
-Enhance the SharePoint platform by developing and integrating custom and third-party applications
-In depth experience with Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and/or Business Intelligence
-SharePoint experience must include SharePoint Designer workflows, effective use of the data view web part (DVWP), content query web part, data form web part, navigation customization, and some branding customization
-Web development experience (HTML, CSS, XSL, XSLT, JavaScript) is required
-Experience with SharePoint templates (site templates, list templates, master page customization) is required
-Experience configuring and working with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and SQL Server 2005 is required
-Experience with server installation, performance tuning is required
Experience Required:
-6 + years experience providing technical leadership for solution development
-In-depth understanding of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, SharePoint Designer 2007, Microsoft Visual Studio capabilities, SharePoint templates, data view web part utilization, custom web part development, web part troubleshooting and custom workflows
-BA degree (or equivalent work experience), Masters a plus
-MCSE preferred
-SharePoint 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services (WSS 3.0) development and/or architectural experience
-SharePoint 2007 and WSS 3.0 implementation and deployment experience including creation of custom web parts
-Experience working with internal business processes and performing detailed analysis of how to effectively deploy SharePoint throughout the enterprise environment
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members
-5-8 years experience in full project lifecycle development with Microsoft technologies
-C# or VB development experience within the .NET framework (including analysis and application design)
-Knowledge of the .NET Framework and experience working in the full Software Development Life Cycle
