Summary:
Reporting directly to the production manager this candidate must possess strong communication, technical and process skills. Supervises shift in all areas of safety, quality, productivity, maintenance, and personnel issues. Communicates all issues and finds root causes and long term corrective actions. Provides input and helps develop annual operating budgets.
Preferred Education Requirements:
A four year undergraduate degree and five years experience is required. Experience in manufacturing setting, and strong communication and people skills is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create an environment that promotes safety and the elimination of employee injuries. Will be hands on and driven by setting the example in all areas and aspects of safety. Must demonstrate knowledge and follow all corporate and plant safety rules and policies and administer discipline when required. Has constant drive to improve safety behaviors.
- Improves and maintains equipment, processes and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and uses constant follow up to ensure improvements are sustained.
- Ensures production goals are met on constant basis to meet customer delivery dates and times.
- Institutes and demonstrates "can do" attitude at all times and in all areas of responsibility.
- Supervises all manufacturing and support personnel and completes annual reviews in a timely manner.
- Develop employees in all areas of manufacturing. Promotes continuous improvement through training and coaching.
- Drives quality products to be produced at all times. Instills mind set to eliminate repetitive defects and institutes procedures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Drives productivity and scrap goals. Develops and implements process improvements and seeks cost reduction improvements in all areas.
- Interact with employees on all levels with varying backgrounds and personalities to ensure a consistent, fair environment that maximizes employee self esteem, maintains a high morale, and sets the standard for teamwork and success.
- Lead pro-active efforts to meet all productivity commitments as well as other business values. Set the standard for change, accountability, and continuous improvement.
