Volt is looking for a Shipping Agent for a temp to hire position in the Portland area. Responsibilities include:

  • Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment.
  • Records shipment data, including weight, charges and truck availability.
  • Completes shipping reports when required.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job.

This is a contract to hire position through Volt Workforce Solutions located in Portland, OR. VWS is a member of the Volt family of companies and a publicly traded, nationally recognized leader in providing staffing and information services.



Requirements:

Required Skills for this Shipping Agent position includes the following:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years related work experience
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a manufacturing environment and inventory control
  • Basic knowledge of the handling and processing requirements for international shipments and has shipping knowledge of Hazmat requirements
  • Experience working with computer shipping programs, such as Federal Express and UPS
  • Knowledge of US Customs procedures a benefit
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
