Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Education: High school degree or equivalent training/experience; 1 year of related experience, and computer/typing skills.

Position may require a valid driver's license and may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Work Experience Field: Asset Manager prior experience working with military or government customer. Must be HAZMAT trained and certified. Must be licensed to operate a Forklift.


Special Skills: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. Job Description :
Essential Job Functions: Inspects, inventories, and documents incoming and outgoing shipments of merchandise/ property.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Inspects transporter's shipping documents (bills of lading, Customs forms) and compares with inbound file to ensure correct delivery and identifies overages or shortages on shipping documents prior to acceptance.
2. Reports discrepancies or evidence of hazardous material to the supervisor before transporter is released.
3. Completes discrepant shipment reports for any loss or damage not properly recorded and acknowledged by the transporter on the CF6043 and transporter's bill of lading.
4. Performs data entry for selected information into required data bases.
5. Releases property on receipt of completed bill of sale, disposition order or G.O. release for entry.
6. Submits release documents to Warehouse Supervisor for review and forwarding to clerk for closeout.
7. Supports cyclic sales activities.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
