Summary: Coordinates activities as Shipping & Receiving Representative engaged in handling service orders and telephone complaints of customers by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Is main point of contact with drivers and vendors.
Recommends corrective services to adjust customer complaints.
Answers questions about service.
Assigns loads to forklift drivers, responsible for pre-shift door check and assigning doors to trailer jockey.
Keys information into computer to compile work volume statistics for accounting purposes and to keep records of customer service requests.
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow, as well as, copying forms for daily use and ensuring next shift is set up with proper paperwork and correct trailers in doors.
Issues written and oral instructions to drivers and vendors.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
Schedules inbound and outbound appointments, as well as signing in drivers, entering transactions in the database and notifying customer when a carrier is approximately 2 hours late.
