The Social & Emerging Media Specialist is responsible for leading research, strategy and implementation of emerging forms of digital media and paid social media inclusion. This includes leveraging mobile,

IPTV, gaming and social media platforms (Youtube, Facebook, Digg) to communicate Ford's product and brand story.

 

Lead Ford's effort to leverage mobile communications.

 

Understand current trends, technologies and advancements in the mobile space.

 

Partner with the agency and mobile publishers to develop communications strategy & executions around key FLM brand efforts.

 

Oversee production and implementation of mobile campaigns.

 

Establish a consistent measurement system for evaluating mobile program success.

 

Test and implement communications using emerging media platforms (gaming, IPTV etc.)

 

Establish a cycle plan of mature, emerging and developing forms of media communications.

 

Determine unique advantages of new media formats and potential to enhance Ford messaging.

 

Oversee production and implementation of emerging media campaigns.

 

Develop unique ways to use media dollars to connect with consumers on social media forums.

 

Develop and implement strategies for the "right" way to engage the millions of people using Facebook, Twitter and other social media websites.

 

Ensure paid inclusion of communications remains authentic.

 

Work closely with the Public Affairs group to align with their non-paid social media efforts.

 

Establish success metrics for reaching customers within social media forums.

 

Oversee paid content syndication programs (e.g. syndication of long-form video content outside ford sites).

 

Extend FordStory.com editorial content into relevant external publications (e.g. forums, news sites).

 

Work closely with digital campaign managers to integrate social and emerging forms of media into brand and vehicle launch campaigns.

 

Ensure alignment with established forms of digital communications and traditional media communications.

 

Provide insight and guidance to the dealer digital team on mobile, social and emerging forms of media for use in Tier II communications.

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Must have demonstrated knowledge of mobile, emerging and social media and application to advertising campaigns

 

Strong technical acumen and ability to understand complex technology

 

Understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, MySpace, Digg, ShareThis, YouTube, Twitter etc.)

 

Understanding of digital marketing and measurement methods

 

Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formats

 

Ability to lead, plan, develop, and implement projects / programs that generate profit and the courage to reject those that do not

 

Ability to establish measurements and success metrics where lack of standards do not exist

 

Previous Work Experience:

 

Three to Five years experience including:

Implementation of digital, mobile and emerging campaigns.

 

Leveraging social media platforms for an advertising campaign.

 

AND experience preferred in:

Technical design, development and implementation

 

Educational Background:

Required:  BA / BS in Communications, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science or related
