About the Job

Overview


Supports, and assists in the development of modifications and enhancements to various software applications. Requires work on projects and in devising and designing solutions to solve business needs. Cross-platform printing, file sharing and security, and troubleshooting remote access user and hardware issues.  Some light travel is a possibility.




Responsibilities



  • Maintain systems, applications and interfaces for financing and insurance platforms

  • Investigates, analyzes, and develops solutions for reported software deficiencies

  • Assess and implement software version upgrades

  • Assist in Developmental Testing as well as User Acceptance Testing for numerous high priority enhancements to the various systems

  • Troubleshoot system problems, including business applications, hardware and OS software

  • Aid and assist in integrating Red Hat systems with Internet Development efforts




Qualifications


The ideal candidate should have a minimum five years of experience in an insurance and/or financial services environment. The qualifications profile should contain the following skills or attributes:


 



  • Minimum three years of experience in successfully using .Net 4.0+, LINQ, C#, HTML, and Visual Studio

  • Preferred experience in FileMaker

  • Preferred experience in Salesforce API’s

  • Be proficient in, or be willing to learn, PICK running on UniVerse or UniData Database Systems in a Red Hat environment

  • Four year degree majoring in Engineering or Computer Science

  • Broad system administration background and familiarity with Windows and Linux

  • Proven project management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Effective written and oral communication skills


 


WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Required working hours are from 8 to 5 daily. Some after hours (early morning / evenings and Saturdays) work may be required during the week and on weekends to accomplish work within critical deadlines. The environment will be intense and fast paced.
