Description:
Paramount Pictures Information Technology division has an opening for a Version Control/QA Software Architect who is experienced in Version Control and Quality Assurance methodologies. The Version Control/QA Software Architect will be responsible for planning, evaluating and supporting complex production control systems with a specific focus on establishing and administering Version Control and Quality Assurance framework and processes for the company's complex business systems.
The Software Architect will function as a member of a dynamic Production Control team, while working closely with other areas of IT to ensure that quality standards are met. He/she will spearhead policies, procedures, and standards for production software control and will perform a critical role within the organization ensuring consistent processing outcomes and increasing productivity of development efforts.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
* Develops & ensures compliance of departmental specifications, policies, and standards to guide the deployment and support of systems.
* Analyzes the company's release management and quality testing needs.
* Develops written recommendations regarding the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.
* Develops the framework and processes for Quality Assurance testing and Version control/Release management which will adhere to the companies change management policies.
* Administers the Quality Assurance and Version Control/Release management processes and controls.
* Trains, directs and checks the work of other resources within the Production Control area in administration and execution of the Quality and Version Control processes.
* Works with all areas of IT, closely involved in planning, testing and deploying software updates and new systems.
* Participates in and supports application development projects by recommending and implementing Production control and support solutions required for the project.
* As a senior member of a dynamic production control team, supports the group as a whole by developing personal capabilities with other Production Control tools, tasks and responsibilities.
* Serves as a project manager and advisor within the IT Operations department, working closely with the Production Control Manager to develop strategies, project plans and risk mitigation for ongoing and future projects.
* Prepares weekly status reports regarding the status of projects and service level achievements.
* Outlines any discrepancies with delivery of projects and/or agreed to service levels and recommends corrective actions where appropriate.
* Counsels and assists the Manager of Production Control and other areas of IT regarding technical matters as required.
