Position Charter & Experience

 

Responsible for software and database development for Vertafore's Professional Services division.  Looking for a generalist that is able to contribute at all levels: user interface rapid prototyping, modeling business objects, developing SQL stored procedures, and troubleshooting production issues.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Software Developer, Professional Services position responsibilities include: 

 

  • Perform database migrations, conversions, consolidations, and upgrades
  • Develop technology and technical design for new and existing software products
  • Participates in product design, bug verification, release testing, and beta support for Agile software projects
  • Researches problems discovered by QA and develops solutions
  • Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits
  • Assists in performing on-site client work on complex applications
  • Enhance existing database designs for improved longevity, reduced maintenance, and improved performance
  • Documentation of development work
  • Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology

Experience

 

  • 3 to 6 years of experience developing .NET-based applications with C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, AJAX, XML, Web Services, HTML, and CSS
  • Analytical and database design skills including modeling experience in translations of logical to physical database architecture
  • Preferred skills: Oracle development experience, knowledge of legacy systems (Delphi, mainframes), conversion-related process and technology experience a plus and .NET 3.5 (WPF, WCF, LINQ) experience

 

Education Requirements

     

*         Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
