Noblis develops and maintains the Universal Biometrics Toolkit for use by law enforcement agencies at the Federal, State, Local, and International levels. Products in the Toolkit have thousands of users worldwide. Noblis is also developing XML-based system interface software for large-scale federal biometric identification and related systems.
We are seeking developers to participate in the design and coding activities for these products.
Responsibilities:
Provide design and development support for the Universal Biometrics Toolkit (UBT):
- Understanding the needs and issues of the user community
- Object-oriented design
- Participating in code development, particularly in Java, XML, C#, Visual Basic
- Reviewing existing code (Visual Basic, C, C#)
- Assisting with architectural design
- Participate in testing
- Participate in developing user and developer documentation
Candidates should possess a BS & 5-10 years, or MS and 3-8 years of Phd and 1-3 years and have experience in software development. Experience in software development in Java, XML, C#, or Visual Basic is required.
Highly desirable experience includes:
- Object-oriented design
- Coding in Java or XML
Other desirable experience includes:
.NET development
- Image processing
- Software quality assurance/testing
- Human factors/user interface design
- Biometrics/forensics domain knowledge
Candidates should have excellent client interface skills with strong problem solving and technical, operational, and/or analysis skills. Teamwork skills and the ability to work under pressure are required as well as excellent writing and oral presentation skills.
Selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation for the purpose of access to sensitive government information.
