Software Development Engineer, BISS

Amazon Industrial and Scientific unit is looking for exceptional software developers to help us provide the best customer experience in the industrial and scientific space, targeting hobbyist and corporate customers alike shopping at Amazon's Industrial and Scientific store.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science (or equivalent) and up to 5 years of professional software development experience. The candidate must demonstrate interest in a broad range of technologies focusing on enterprise-grade software and web sites. Job responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, deploying, and maintaining applications that integrate with Amazon's ecommerce platform.

We are looking for candidates experienced in the following technologies and disciplines:

• Java, JEE, Web Services, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, HTML, XML, Tomcat, Apache, and Linux experience.
• Solid grounding in the fundamentals of Object Oriented Design and design patterns, with particular emphasis on MVC.
• Template languages such as Perl/Mason or MVC frameworks such as JSF, Struts or Spring/MVC would be a strong plus.
• Knowledge or experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), refactoring, continuous integration, and Agile best practices are a plus.
• Ability to multi-task, quickly adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements, learn new systems and technologies, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems.
