This position will carry out design and development tasks associated with Thomson Reuters Wealth Management strategic initiatives. Projects to include new product offerings, enhancements to existing revenue producing products, maintenance of existing products, integration efforts focusing on Thomson Reuters initiatives or 3rd party applications or services.
This role will receive direction from the team lead and will have latitude on how to perform the task. Essential day-to-day responsibilities include performing coding assignments, unit testing, ensuring development standards are being followed, analyzing functional specifications to determine technical approach to software design/implementation, producing technical specifications and unit testing scripts, participating in team code reviews and impact assessments.
Other duties will include; Production support and subsequent defect research (root cause analysis and resolution). Assistance in technical and/or system documentation may be needed to aid support teams.
Minimum 5 years experience developing software with Microsoft Visual Studio .Net development framework and SQL Server 2005/2008, - focusing on using C#, TSQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, SQL Server Integration Services, SQLXML, XQuery, DTS, SQL Server Management Studio. Other skills include XML, Web focused development, Object Orientated Design and Programming, Multi-Tier Application Architectures, Analysis and Design background, SQL Performance Tuning and sound communication and technical documentation skills.
Desired skills: .Net, ASP.Net, C#, SQLServer experience with TSQL, Scripts, Proxies, Stored Procedures, Triggers, SQL Server Integration Services, CLR, Service Broker, Replication, SQLXML, XQuery, SQL performance tuning, database design, DTS, SQL Server Management Studio.
Optional skills: nUnit, Performance Engineering, Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), Build and Deployment experience, User Experience Design, RedGate tools (a plus), Project Management (nice to have), Microsoft SilverLight (nice to have).
