Software Development Engineer, Vendor Self-Service

Want to work with cutting-edge Amazon technologies like AWS S3, EC2, and Manaus?  Want to build applications that help support Kindle and other new business ventures worldwide?  The Vendor Self-Service team has a rare opportunity for a software developer on a team focused on building applications that will allow all of Amazon's vendors to take greater advantage of our retail platform.

Our mission is to create the systems and tools required for vendors to help themselves.  Help themselves do everything.  Manage their accounts, set up products, manage purchase orders, view sales reports, send shipment notifications, run merchandizing campaigns, publish to the Kindle, and much more.  The VSS team is creating a platform for vendor-facing applications that enable vendors to do all of this.  The goal is to dramatically increase selection, support new businesses, and drive operational efficiencies by using or inventing the best technologies Amazon has to offer to create a one-of-a-kind self-service environment for anyone that vends to Amazon.

An example of a pioneering self-service program that we built is Advantage (www.amazon.com/advantage), a program whereby anyone with a product and a UPC code can sell via the Amazon website, using Amazon fulfillment.  A more recent example is the launch of the Kindle Publishing program (kindlepublishing.amazon.com), allowing bloggers to self-publish their blog on Kindle.  Both of these sites run on the VSS platform.

We need a SDE who loves hands on work building web applications in an innovative team environment.  This is a great opportunity in which you can take ownership of the entire end to end design, development, integration and deployment effort for Amazon's vendor-facing applications.
