About the Job

Analyzes, designs, develops, debugs and maintains software for telecommunications and hardware interface applications, including firmware for embedded code. Work often involves interfaces with analog and digital electrical design and knowledge of various operating systems, potentially including Real Time Operating systems (RTOSs). Position may require some knowledge of, or exposure to electrical design. Knowledge of current software development methodologies. Exposure to, or knowledge of the SEI Capability Maturity Model (CMM) at level 2 or above and associated processes and methods is strongly preferred. Typically programs in 3 GL (third generation languages: e.g., C, C++, and Java). May work independently or as part of a team in customer facilities depending upon level. Knowledge of tools and languages such as Rational Rose, UML or XML is a definite plus.


Examples of Work:
•Maintain and develop web pages including content management, content structure, and access management consistent with established policies for content and security

•Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and implement software code as a component of the website

•Work with other members of a team and SIGDEV leadership to develop the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website

•Coordinate with content owners to ensure currency and accuracy of content

•Ensure classification markings are properly applied and displayed.

•Support the Web Services Administrator, the System Administrators, and J2EE developers in the build and deployment of web based applications utilizing web services such as BEA WebLogic, Tomcat, and/or Apache, when needed.

•Designing, coding, and deploying web pages for IE and Netscape browsers.

•Performing graphic design and content production applicable to web page layout and content management

•Deploying and maintaining web content in a security sensitive environment.

•Working in a Java development environment and interfacing directly with Java developers, service administrators, and content owners.

•Significant work experience in UNIX, LINUX, and Windows environments.

•Strong communications and organizational skills.

•Basic J2EE development experience or Web Services Administration experience is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
-The candidate must have at least 5+ years of credible experience designing, developing, updating, and supporting Web pages and the use of Web page creation tools.

-Experience in graphics design and the use of presentation tools is highly desirable as is Java development experience.

-Requires a background in C, C++ or Java.
