DESCRIPTION:

This is a senior software design development position that requires a deep and broad technical competence that qualifies the candidate to lead design, development and delivery of well tested and bug free products specifically relating to the Ethernet Layer 1,2, 3 related protocols in network elements and similar products. The candidate will architect, design, implement and test products built for embedded platforms that are the core of multiple communication network elements ranging from media gateways to RNCs to switches and media servers, to name a few.

Following are the minimum required technical competences · Hands on experience implementing Ethernet physical, link and network layer protocols. Examples include MSTP, RSTP, VRRP, Ethernet OAM, programming SFP, SFP+ etc · Hands on experience in dealing with Broadcom, Fulcrum, Marvel or other Ethernet switches and associated management software (e.g. Level 7 FASTPATH software) · Solid knowledge and in-depth understanding of system architectures and designs relevant to network elements · Excellent programming skills using C and assembly languages; architectural modeling and higher level design tools desirable · Solid knowledge of typical software tools and processes as well as "best known practice" of software design and debugging · Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

· MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or BS in the same with additional 4 years of experience · Minimum of 6 years of experience (w/MS degree) in software development in the technical areas stated above · Excellent programming and code reviewing/testing and debugging skills · Excellent written and verbal communications especially in articulating architectures, design specifications and product requirements · Creative disposition in providing innovative system and element solutions and resolving technical and interpersonal issues · Ability and skill to effectively and productively engage with customers and technology partners · Ability and skill to effectively technically lead less experienced software engineers · Excellent interpersonal interactions skills in a team work environment.
