DESCRIPTION:

This person will be responsible for the design, development, and debug of embedded software for RadiSys communicatiuons products. Following are the minimum required technical competences

- Excellent programming skills using C and assembly languages in an embedded environment

- Experience in embedded system development and bring up of devices and boards.

- Knowledge of Cavium OCTEON family of processors is a significant plus.

- Experience with developing sample applications, diagnostics and validation testing of blade level products

- Solid knowledge of typical software tools(version control) and processes as well as "best known practice" of software design and debugging

- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems

- Experience in telecom protocols and/or interface implementation This person will follow the RadiSys ISO and software development processes during all phases of development. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with pre-sales, manufacturing support and sustaining engineering activities; these include, sizing work effort, working with customers in solving field problems, identifying ways to duplicate customer problems etc. This person will work closely with the hardware engineering team during the bringup and debug of the hardware. Occasional travel may be required in order to solve field problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or BS in the same with additional 4 years of experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development in the technical areas stated above

- Excellent programming and code reviewing/testing and debugging skills

- Excellent written and verbal communications especially in articulating architectures, design specifications and product requirements

- Excellent interpersonal interactions skills in a team work environment
