Description

The Software Engineer will be responsible for coding, unit-testing and maintaining projects for the Marketing team, based on system specifications and Change Requests provided by the Marketing business team. Projects will include development of new content pages, automation of business and technical processes, trouble-shooting production issues and fixing as needed, maintaining and improving deployed code as needed. Qualified candidate will design, implement and maintain front-end and back-end components of the company's web and server-side applications.

In addition responsibilities include:

• Working cooperatively with the Marketing business team and Project Lead to review business requirements and write technical specifications, deliver a complete solution, i.e. take a product from technical requirements phase through development/deployment, and ongoing maintenance/upgrades, take ownership of technical areas and ensure that the software satisfies all requirements, is completed on time, and is maintainable.
• Individual will work closely with the Marketing Technical Lead, Priceline Engineering team, and other software engineers to ensure that company coding standards are observed as well as participate in the evaluation and selection of new strategies and technologies.
• Ensure that the Marketing Department supports all division and corporate business strategies, as well as supports standards, policies and procedures related to Information Technology (IT).

Required Skills

• Strong object-oriented design skills.
• Knowledge and work experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS and Ajax.
• Knowledge and work experience with JDBC, EJB, and XML (parsers, XML schema, XSLT, etc.)
• Familiarity with Eclipse, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss and ability to configure an application server.
• Very solid understanding of SQL and using relational databases (specific work with Oracle is a plus).
• Strong multitasking, time management, team work and analytical problem-solving skills is required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years work experience in IT required.
• At least 5 years experience programming web applications using Java and JSP.
• Experience working with Linux and Windows environments.
• BS in Computer Science or similar is required.
