Software Engineer III

About the Job

AAI Corporation, an operating unit of Textron Systems, is seeking a qualified software engineer for an exciting effort on aircrew training and/or aircraft maintenance devices. This position involves real-time software modeling of various aircraft systems in a military simulation. Works on complex problems analyzing training requirements to stimulate and simulate aircraft systems such as navigation, avionics and communication equipment. Supervises and/or prepares, presents and reviews formal reports such as; test plans, test reports and proposals, including technical discussions and preparation of cost data. Participates in and may be responsible for computer, software and subcontractor selection. Participates in and may plan for Hardware/Software Integration (HSI). Exercises judgment using standard practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Required Skills
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of six year of full lifecycle software development experience using high level, object oriented programming languages (C++, Ada-95) in a real-time environment. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of others.  The candidate must have prior leadership experience providing technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staff. 

Required Experience
Position requires demonstrated experience developing software for a Windows and POSIX-style operating system, with a focus on operating system level interaction, memory management, and efficiency. RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC-429, and 1553B communication bus programming experience required. LAN based communication experience is desirable, but not mandatory. Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Math or Science required. Experience working in a processed based organization including both ISO9001 and SEI CMMI process models.

Note: All candidates must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
