Job Description :
We are looking for someone interested in working with Image Generation Software as it applies to the aviation virtual training environment. Skills required include the ability to take general guidance and manipulate the software, develop GUI's and write code to emulate the functions as described by University of North Dakota(UND)and EG&G staff. The basic run-time program is CATI Training Systems XTUAS while all others programs and applications are COTS as described above. We will provide one month of training and familiarization training on the system with subject matter experts. Frequent telephonic and email correspondence is anticipated. Individual must enjoy working independently and on a wide range of simulation and training issues to support UND efforts.
The job will require the individual to be the on-site engineering support for development and enhancement of a Reaper/MQ-9 simulator located in Grand Forks as a primary function. You will be responsible for the sustainment of the system, HW and SW and for working with UND personnel to develop improvements in the software. You will interact with UND instructors and operators on a daily basis supporting concepts for training strategies and system capabilities. This interaction will assist in the continual improvement and upgrade of system software capabilities to emulate the functionality of the MQ-9 and MQ-1 Ground Control Stations.
Duties will also include providing support for 3 UAV desktop trainers in a lab/classroom setting. These systems are generic models that assist in the training of UAS concepts for flight, aerodynamics, sensor operation and emergency procedure operations. The systems may also be used by UND personnel to develop or assess human factors issues, airspace issues and other studies and analysis as determined by UND personnel and time available.
Desired potential employee will be the sole representative of EG&G on site and primary developer of software enhancements. Previous experience in IG software and aviation simulation are highly desired but not a prerequisite.
