About the Software Engineer (Intern) Opportunity



InfoSpace is seeking two students in Computer Science / Engineering programs to assist in the development of software projects to support new business initiatives at Infospace. Individuals should be self-motivated and interested in doing quality work in a dynamic working environment and learning from their teammates. Interns will gain invaluable, real-world experience developing software for a leading search technology & internet services company. Interns will be involved in the implementation & delivery of user-facing web applications and the technology behind them, and will also be exposed to various aspects of the software development lifecycle: architecture & design, testing, analysis & documentation, and deployment & support. Flexibility, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to collaborate & communicate effectively are keys to success in this position.

Job Responsibilities



* Write code per application / component design with an understanding of the overall architecture. Assist in documenting, debugging, evaluating, and testing projects.



* Own the implementation of key features or sub-components.



* Participate in code & design reviews.



* Collaborate & communicate effectively, working in a team environment with other experienced engineers.





Required Experience





Required skills, Education, & Experience



* Currently pursuing Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related engineering field (2009 grad acceptable)



* Strong understanding of object oriented programming & related principles.



* Applicable experience (school project work OK) with one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Java, or C#. Experience with .NET Framework a plus.



* Attention to detail for tasks both big and small.



* Ability to manage time effectively and complete work by given deadlines.



* Proactive instead of reactive: looking for ways to improve self & projects. A real interest in learning & growing through practice and working with others.
