TransAct Technologies Inc., a growing publicly traded NASDAQ (TACT) company, specializing in the manufacture of transaction printers seeks an energetic Software Engineer for our Engineering Group in our Ithaca, NY facility.    

Reporting to the Sr. Project Engineer - Software, the Software Engineer will work as part of a team to develop embedded firmware and software solutions to support current and future TransAct products in the Gaming, Lottery, Banking and POS markets.  This includes accurately and efficiently designing, developing, troubleshooting and implementing complex, customized firmware and software solutions; interacting with other departments to ensure successful integration of firmware, software, electrical and mechanical systems; resolving firmware integration problems with new and existing systems and products; working with customers to resolve technical issues related to product firmware and software; and ensuring that all software programs are properly documented.

   Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science with at least three years of related engineering experience or equivalent.


• 
  
  Possess sound knowledge of software development, microprocessors, computer aided engineering, software test and debugging.


• 
  
  Thorough knowledge and use of “C”, “C++” and other associated programming languages.


• 
  
  Experienced in systems integration and analysis.


• 
  
  Good understanding of electro mechanical systems and how they relate to the software and firmware design.


• 
  
  Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills.


• 
  
   Must be able to work both in a team environment and independently.
