Software Engineer - Vision Systems

Software Developer – Vision Systems


Precise Path Robotics, Inc. Location: Indianapolis, IN (Greater Indianapolis Area)

 

Job Summary:

Develop original algorithms and software code to produce practical solutions to unsolved problems in the deployment of outdoor mobile robots, specifically in the areas of vision systems and obstacle detection.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Program in C/C++ for robotic platforms in Linux environment
  • Work with a team of 8-10 other engineers in the development of the software and robotic platform
  • Work with product manager and occasionally with customer to ensure all product requirements are met effectively

 

The candidate must have:

  • 4 + years experience programming with C/C++ on Linux OS
  • M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related field
  • Computer vision experience
  • Experience with mobile robotics
  • A burning desire to develop the next generation of autonomous mobile robots

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:

  • Experience with real-time, dynamic computer vision systems
  • Knowledge of Hough transforms and texture analysis
  • Experience with filtering optics and lasers
  • Optical flow knowledge and experience
  • Object oriented code methodologies
  • Distributed and real-time operating systems
