Job Description

Brocade Communications, the pioneer in storage area networking, is looking for new computer science/computer engineering graduates to join our exciting team as a Software Engineering Associate. This unique learning opportunity is the foundation for a successful career in storage area networking, where you gain the skills/ tools necessary to make an impact in this burgeoning industry.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

·         Design, implement, integrate and test variety of software for embedded networking software for Fiber Channel and Ethernet system,

·         Fiber Channel protocols,

·         IP routing & Layer 2 switching/routing protocols.

·         Storage Networking Applications

·         Network management software based on Java, SWING, HTMLWeb tools etc.

·         Working with ASIC and system designers to refine the product requirement.

·         Work with architects and senior team members in designing additional tools to help development in simulation/emulation platforms and in performing scalability tests etc

 

 

Education and Experience

·         BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; or equivalent work experience.

·         Course work and familiarity with the following:

o    Basic knowledge of hardware and software systems

o    Familiarity with Ethernet and Fiber Channel protocols

o    Networking, Linux & embedded software courses

o    Java/Web programming courses

o    Proficient in C/C++ and/or Java and exposure to Perl

·         Strong problem solving and good verbal and written communication skills

·         Comfortable with technical and business English usage ( documents reading, e-mails, conference calls

 

Physical requirements

·         Frequent use of mouse and keyboard

·         Frequent phone usage

·         Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds
