Software QA Manager

About the Job

Our client is having Software QA Manager's position in boston.

Requirements:

 

Software QA Manager experienced in trade processing, with sound knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivatives, is required to work within the technology department to perform quality assurance testing and liaise with the Derivatives Fixed Income business groups.  The individual is responsible for validating that the software delivered to the Global Markets Derivatives QA team, for both SSC developed and vendor products, adheres to both functional and technical requirements. 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

1.Develops test plans, executes test cases (both manual and automated), and manages the QA tests utilizing a structured process. Tests will include usability verification, end-to-end data and process verification, back-end database and system verification, performance, stress and load benchmarking plus failover and disaster recovery test.

2.Leads the definition of overall test strategy, for a logical grouping of applications within Global Markets Derivatives. 

*Defines a  test strategy, for each application under management, that encompasses comprehensive systems, systems integration, and/or user acceptance level testing

*Monitors that the correct environment(s) exist to execute test plans and cases in conjunction with the test strategy, and takes corrective action as necessary

*Approves and monitors execution of test automation plans across test phases based on test strategy

*Provides guidance and direction to test seniors as to internal or external factors that impact test strategy

 

3.Leads the definition and implementation of test resource plans, for the derivatives application

·         Responsible for the demand management process as it relates to test resources.

·         Ensures appropriate resource balance between on and offshore resources

·         Monitors for, and corrects, test resource imbalances between projects

·         Proactively articulates resource issues to senior management, including proposals for resolution along with financial and schedule impact

 

4.Provides testing process leadership

·         Analyzes and provides context and effective presentation of metrics gathered in the test process in order to propose and implement ongoing improvements

·         Ensures proper procedures and controls are in place throughout the testing process

 

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in technology, finance, business or equivalent

 

Previous management experience required, preferably of a QA group required

.               Strong attention to detail required

.               Knowledge of fixed income derivatives trading application (Summit knowledge a plus)

.               Demonstrable experience and knowledge of trade capture, pricing, risk management and end to end process flows of the relevant products (i.e., bonds, interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps, basis swaps, interest rate futures, swaptions, FRA's and caps / floors )

.               Strong understanding of derivatives accounting  a plus

.               Proven leadership, problem solving, and communication, interpersonal and analytical skills

.               Strong relationship management and consulting skills.

.               Strong knowledge of systems design, testing and quality assurance methodologies.

.               Ability to manage multiple deadlines and large-scale testing projects successfully.

.               Extensive, hands-on computer programming and scripting background.

.               Demonstrated knowledge of computing and networking platforms and ability to manage testing activities across platforms.

.               Knowledge of automated testing tools, emerging technologies and client/server issues including interoperability, scalability
