Software Quality Analyst (1726)
Description

The Software Quality Analyst evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines: Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain quality of software economically and efficiently. Reviews new or modified program, including documentation, diagram, and flow chart, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines. Recommends program improvements or corrections to programmers. Using created test scripts, builds or uses provided test data to test program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards. Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction and publishes testing evaluation results.. May develop utility program to test, track, and verify defects in software program. May train programmer on improved testing procedures.



Required Skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Requirements and Design sessions of projects to develop test plan and test scripts,
  • When informed that a project is ready for QA review, executes test plans following defined test scripts.
  • Create and distribute QA testing status and results of tests
  • Recommends program improvements or corrections to programmers.
  • Reviews programming standards and provides suggestions for improvements.
  • Work on projects as assigned.


Required Experience

  • 3-5 years QA experience
  • Ability to work on BOTH mainframe and open systems platforms
  • Prefer Analyst have certification – Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA)
  • Must have organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with business users at all levels as well as with technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to achieve high product quality with aggressive implementation schedules.
  • Highly dependable, adaptable to independent and team assignments, and able to work in structured and unstructured environments.
  • Strong conceptual, analytic and problem solving skills
