This is a hands-on opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys testing specialized security solutions for Government and commercial customers. This position will provide quality assurance for the project starting from design through to deployment and operations. The engineer will validate network and functional requirements on classified and unclassified systems. This position may also provide Tier 2 through 4 support to the operations staff. The engineer may also collaborate as part of a system design team to research emerging technologies and develop new cyber security capabilities. Responsibilities include providing quality assurance support services for a diverse set of customers.The candidate must be able to quickly identify and document complex requirements, develop detailed test plans and test reports for complex systems. Candidates should be skilled in: Application layer services and protocols, data networking, TCP/IP, network security, firewalls, and/or protocol analysis.Experience in system test and/or software development is essential.Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Java, C/C++, scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl), database technologies, Linux programming and administration is a significant plus.Occasional local travel may be required.
• Minimum Six (6) years experience in government quality assurance, testplanning, execution, and reporting. • Hand-on implementation experience with network security devices,protection platforms, and monitoring tools in laboratory and realworld environments. • Hands-on configuration and practical experience with enterpriseclass routers and switch product lines including Cisco and Juniper. • Significant experience with the validation of functional,operational, security, and performance large-scale, complexinformation systems. • Experience providing hands-on support such as Linux systemadministration in lab and during system installation/deployment andinfrastructure upgrades. • Familiarity with Federal Government networks, and DOD technicalrequirements and is a plus. • Knowledge of IPv6 and its impact on test designs.• Strong technical writing skills. • Excellent organization skills tosupport work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. • Self-motivated, including ability to effectively perform tasks under pressure. Required Education: • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.• MS in related field is a plus.
TS/SCI with CI or Full Scope Polygraph is required
DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification desired (Security+, SSCP, etc) . • Vendor certifications are a plus.
