The software quality assurance test engineer will ensure that software developed and maintained within the NSABP Biostatistical Center meets all testing and validation criteria for compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 regulations and meets relevant guidelines for good clinical practice. These duties include creating formal testing and validation plans and/or scripts, selecting and maintaining data sets for testing and validation, logging test and validation results, interacting with software developers to identify and describe defects, and ensuring that all testing and validation documentation and their results have been archived. This position requires the ability to perform multiple simultaneous test tasks, prioritizing as appropriate to meet commitments and the ability to solve moderate to complex technical problems with general supervision and instruction. This position is part of a team environment which requires leadership, cooperation, and collegiality. Master's or bachelor's degree required with relevant experience in computer science or information technology or related field. Knowledge of Windows operating system, SQL queries, ASP.NET web applications, and software testing paradigms. Strong organizational and communication skills. Five years experience in testing/validation of software or data analysis; experience in software analysis and specification; experience in a regulated environment, experience with test automation software tools, and SAS programming a plus.
