Position Overview:
Because of a strategic commitment, Goodrich Corporation has initiated the creation of an Electronic Systems Center (ESC) headquartered in Phoenix, AZ. The ESC will support a wide variety of Goodrich aerospace products with state-of-the-art facilities and expertise. The ESC team will design, test, build, and support electronic components and systems for all parts of the Enterprise.
The Quality Engineer will support the development and implementation of all quality processes and procedures to effectively streamline the design, development, manufacturing, assembly and test of electronic components and their associated software at the ESC Phoenix facility. In addition will serve as a Quality focal for designated New Product Introductions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret, develop, implement, monitor and manage quality systems requirements imposed by our customers and the regulatory authorities.
- Monitor the software development process on projects through the entire DO-178B life-cycle.
- Work with Design and Product Support and Manufacturing Engineers on New Product Introduction, performing preplanning of new products.
- Provides technical assistance to manufacturing assembly and test including interpretation of quality requirements and standards.
- Interfaces daily with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Assembly and test and additional functional areas to resolve product and process related problems.
- Functions as a member of an Integrated Product team on new product introductions.
- Domestic and international travel of up to 20% of time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- BS/BA degree in a relevant field with a minimum of six years of Quality related experience.
- Experienced with the implementation of AS9100 and AS9006 standards.
- Experience with DO-178b Standard with level A or B software certification experience.
- Must display excellent teamwork and problem solving skills, and have the ability to drive projects to completion.
- At least 3 years of experience in electronic equipment manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills appropriate for direct interaction with international customers and Electronic Systems Center personnel.
- Good computer skills in MS Office applications.
Preferred:
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). If the individual is not already certified the expectation of the position is that certification(s) be obtained within one year.
- Experience with electrical, and electro - mechanical aerospace quality processes with an emphasis on Final Assembly, Inspection and Test.
- Continuous Improvement experience including demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing with visual management techniques.
- Working knowledge of the DO-254 standard
Experience working as a member of an Integrated Product Team on new product development.
- Experience in a business running SAP.
- Experience working in an AS9100 Quality Management System environment
