Senior Solutions Architect - Business Intelligence
 
The Senior Solutions Architect will apply high-quality expertise to the analysis, design, development, integration, and implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that leverage the Microsoft technology stack. Candidate will resolve problems which require an intimate knowledge of BI technologies and the ability to work independently as well as in conjunction with a team.
 
The ideal candidate will:

  • Apply high-quality expertise to the analysis, design, development, integration, installation, implementation and support of BI solutions that leverage or integrate with the Microsoft technology stack.

  • Resolve business and technical problems which require an intimate knowledge of Microsoft BI technologies including deep SQL Server expertise (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS), ProClarity/Performance Point, Business Scorecard Manager, and relevant BI features of SharePoint.        

  • Work independently and in conjunction with a team of engineers.

  • Participate in full project life cycle from pre-sales to deployment. 

  • Manage and mentor junior staff.

  • Contribute to and participate in National BI Practice events, conferences, and internal training.

  • Assist in the hiring process.

 
Experience Requirements:
·         6-10+ years of intensive experience in the analysis, design, implementation and support of complex applications and/or BI solutions.
·         Strong focus on creating solutions that leverage technology to solve business problems.
·         2-3 years hands on experience developing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or SQL DTS solutions, building highly scalable and customizable packages, and implementing enterprise class frameworks
·         Minimum 3-4 years hands on or equivalent experience performing Dimensional Modeling with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
·         Demonstrated ability to create and implement enterprise class Unified Dimensional Models leveraging numerous non-SQL Server data sources and integrating them into the UDM
·         Ability to architect an environment
·         Hands on experience with Business Scorecard Manager and either ProClarity or Performance Point Server 2007 required
·         Understanding of a Service Oriented Architecture, common frameworks across multiple product vendors
·         Ability to translate a relational data model into a dimensional model on any database platform
·         Solid understanding of systems engineering (this is critical to ensure a high performance BI architecture using CPU, memory, storage, caching, etc efficiently)
·         Hands on experience building data cleansing processes (de-duplication, aggregation, reconciliation, appending)
·         Sound understanding of building KPIs, and working with the business on how this process comes together; 
·         Firm understanding of the fundamentals for putting Dashboards together, what elements would have the most impact, what metrics would have no impact, and the ability to assist the business in designing the layout when combining Scorecards with Reports into a single Dashboard
·         Can work in and design multiple tier environments
·         Excellent client interaction skills are required along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
