Gerdau Ameristeel has an opening for a Solutions Delivery Senior Finance Business Analyst in Tampa, FL. The Senior Finance Business Analyst reports directly to the Principal Business Analyst and may be required to perform duties in many different areas of the IT department. Initially, the Senior BA will not have any direct reports.
Experience for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience. Incumbent should have five or more years of experience in Business Analysis strategy as well as 4+ year’s relevant business analysis experience, with a demonstrated history of collaborating with customers and implementing successful application solutions. SBA will also have experience working with up to date Business Tools, Techniques, and Methodologies.
The Senior BA’s primary focus is to have expertise in requirements and functional design facilitation and documentation, including modeling tools and methods for appropriate system(s). The SBA should have demonstrated skills or experience in the following areas:
- Experience gathering requirements including conducting focus groups, behavioral observations, interviews, etc. to gather requirements; integrating multiple user requirements into one overall requirement document, identifying inconsistencies, gaps, and conflicts in requirements; recommending different approaches to gathering requirements in order to meet the business needs; and determining how well-suited requirements are to supporting business processes.
- Experience designing and documenting use cases, workflows, and business process diagrams for appropriate system(s).
- Experience analyzing and designing systems in component-based or object-based systems.
- Experience translating business requirements into functional specifications.
- Project management experience utilizing a structured software development lifecycle methodology.
- Relationship management experience including ability to establish relationships based trust and confidence, create collaborative relationships, and actively manage and track issues until they are resolved.
- Business case management experience balancing scope, quality, effort, schedule, budget and risk simultaneously; explaining how the release schedule affects the business case measures and coordinating business case changes with project management.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Requirements Management
- Lead effort to analyze and research new and existing products, procedures, and/or workflow needs associated with business systems.
- Lead effort to work with business to identify functional and technical requirements
- Work with Infrastructure Engineers and Architects to define business solutions, ensuring alignment with business strategies and priorities, as well as the target benefits expected
- Lead effort to identify, verify and document functional and technical requirements using requirements management methodology and tools.
- Lead effort to define and draft systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
- Lead effort to translate business requirements into design specifications.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to Business Analyst.
Business Process Design
· Lead effort to analyze and design business process.
· Review documented business processes.
Business Process Implementation
· Lead effort to implement new business processes or modify existing processes.
· Lead effort to monitor and ensure that requirements are met, tested and implemented
· Lead effort to transition the requirements and use cases to the designers, and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements.
· Lead effort to Identify and resolve gaps between new and existing business processes and applications.
· Work with Quality Assurance group to review and ensure that requirements and processes meet established quality standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Systems
- Experience with Lawson – Financial & Procurement Modules including implementation and support
- Experience with rational database management systems such as Oracle.
- Basic proficiency with SQL.
- Five or more years of experience as a business analyst or consultant with a focus on ERP systems implementation and support. Demonstrated history of collaborating with customers and implementing successful application solutions.
Preferred Requirements
- Additional ERP experience (SAP, Oracle Financials, etc…)
- Development experience with PL/SQL and/or Oracle Forms
- Additional experience in Financials, Accounting, Project Methodology or Project Management
