Manager, Sourcing Projects

Job Responsibilities:  Uses project management tools and processes to coordinate the Business Unit’s sourcing cost out program across North America’s 4 operations as well as analytical and quantitative methods to identify additional sourcing opportunities, understand, predict and enhance supply chain processes. Sourcing program cost out target 5% - $12M.

  • Responsible for assembling and maintaining program data, analyzing and reporting performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support the sourcing cost out program as well as SCM planning and operations.
  • Interfaces with corporate sourcing as well as site and Business Unit leadership.
  • Manage a handful of key or Business Unit wide projects as well as coordinate the sourcing cost out program.
  • Gathers and interprets relevant program data (spend, lead time, costs, productivity, demand patterns, etc.)
  • Investigates problems, finds root causes, and develops solutions.
  • Develops periodic performance reports and distributes them to stakeholders.
  • Provides analytical support for projects, new business opportunities and proposals.
  • Furthers the goals and positive, professional image of the Business Unit by conducting business with other units, departments, suppliers, etc. in a timely and cooperative manner.
  • Facilitates opportunity generation across cross functional teams.

 

Requirements:  Strong quantitative and analytical skills; familiar with logistics and production planning concepts (e.g., just-in-time, materials requirement planning); broad range of computer skills – database, spreadsheet, statistics applications, and logistics software packages; understand contracts and tariffs; self-directed; ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change; comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels; project managements skills.

·         B.S. in Business, Supply Chain or other related discipline required.

·         3+ years experience in purchasing and/or materials coordination required or project management.

·         CPM, CSCP or CPIM a major plus and will gain greater consideration.

·         Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma functionality a major plus.

·         Working knowledge of computer systems, emphasizing MS Office, relational databases and computer based planning systems.
