Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.       Responsible for continuous improvement of supplier cost, quality, and delivery
2.       Development and management of the supply base, consistent with BU objectives.
3.       Providing procedural and process guidance and training to purchasing functions at various BU locations in line with overall York International objectives.
4.       Establishing standard cost for purchased materials and assisting in short and long-term planning.
5.       Oversee supplier development and management efforts.
6.       Develop appropriate metrics and report progress in above areas.
7.       Monitor, report on, and forecast purchase price variance


Education and/or Experience                                                
1.      Bachelor degree required and Master degree preferred in business management or a related technical field.
2.     Previous related work experience with material procurement, supply chain management and planning techniques desired.
3.      Expertise in the art of negotiation, strategic thinking, and legal contract review.
4.      Solid computer skills; must be strong in all Microsoft Office programs, and particularly proficient with Excel. 
5.      Access database, SAP and AS400 Query experience are desirable.
6.      An understanding of product cost modeling and structure.
7.      Good oral and written communications skills and strong organizational skills.
8.      Ability to combine technical and engineering aspects of various products to develop long-range plans for supply, engineering and quality concerns.

C.P.M. Certification from the Institute for Supply Management, preferred.
