Sourcing & Procurement Analyst - Hartford, CT 06103

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Finance to monitor supplier spend and identify business opportunities to capture leverage contractible spend.

  • Support the sourcing, procurement and supplier management processes for segment-specific transactions

  • Reinforce sourcing/procurement practices consistent with enterprise standards

  • Support the business case surrounding the opportunities in these areas

  • Support the strategic sourcing plan, working with UHG Procurement

  • Develop and lead the project time line

  • Identify all stakeholders and assembling the appropriate sourcing team (cross functional, cross segmental, subject matter aspects)

  • Develop all needed communications related to the project

  • Develop the appropriate RFx's to competitive source

  • Define service level requirements in collaboration with business owners

  • Drive the entire contracting process including negotiating financial and contract terms

  • Ensure that Delegation of Authority limits are followed in signing contracts

  • Working with the executive relationship managers, ensure the supplier management programs are in place and functioning for all strategic supplier relationships owned by Segment

  • Act as a liaison and advocate for all UHG and UHT leveraged procurement programs

  • Support and manage segment supplier diversity requirements

  • Ensure segment compliance with the contract management

Required qualifications:
  • 3+ years progressive strategic procurement experience, including strategic supplier management experience

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Knowledge of business finance.

  • Advanced experience and background with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communication skills and organization skills

  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment

  • Experience with contract management systems is desired
