Villa Gardens is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Sous Chef to join it's praise-winning team.
Under the supervision of the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef oversees, and coordinates activities of kitchen workers to prepare and cook hot meals for the entire facility. Assists with organizing and directing the food preparation for Special Events and Theme Days.
- Maintains standards of quality food preparation, production and portion control.
- Assists in the development of standardized recipes.
- Responsible for appropriate quantities of food needed to meet menu requirements.
- Responsible for care and cleanliness of equipment and of related work areas.
- Assures timing of preparation to meet service schedules.
- Assures food handling in accordance with sanitary standards.
- Demonstrates alertness to maintain efficient operation of assigned area.
- Follows highest standards of cleanliness as well as following all federal, state and corporate policies, health codes and guidelines in preparation and handling of foodstuffs.
- Directly and/or indirectly supervises 5 to 10 cooks, assistant cooks, and food service workers.
