
First National Bank of the South has an immediate need for a Special Assets Officer for its corporate office located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Function
Manage assigned special asset/loan portfolio for timely workout and resolution, protecting the bank’s interests while mitigating losses for the Bank. Qualified candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
1.) Monitor loans/assets for payments, defaults, valuation changes and other circumstances, recommending & taking approved/appropriate action to mitigate losses and enhance recoveries for the Bank.
2.) Work with borrowers to achieve restructures or modifications to rehabilitate certain non-performing loans to performing status.
3.) Initiate appropriate & timely action (e.g., default notices, legal action) on loans that fail to perform; monitor ongoing steps and bank’s lawyers in workout or disposition process.
4.) Review and report on all aspects of assigned portfolio and update information critical to managing specific loans, monitoring for compliance with Bank policies/procedures and regulatory requirements (e.g., asset & loan action plans).
5.) Report regularly on all of the above to the Special Assets Manager, Senior Bank Management and Board of Directors, making recommendations and performing supporting analysis on specific loans/assets, following through to approved resolution.
