Automation Tool Company (ATC) has 26 years of experience designing and building automated assembly and test equipment primarily used in the automotive industry. Located in Cookeville, TN (1 hour east of Nashville on Interstate 40)ATC currently employs 98 engineers, assemblers, fabricators, and administrators.
Due to strong growth, ATC is looking to hire experienced machine designers. We have two positions open for immediate hires. Apply today to become part of a dynamic team environment designing assembly and test equipment ranging from $300k to over $3 million in scope.
POSITION SUMMARY
Prepares working plans and detail drawings of parts of machines from rough or detailed sketches and notes for engineering, general design drawings for manufacturing purposes according to dimensional specifications. May plan, design, and coordinate integration of machinery and equipment into manufacturing process, applying knowledge of machine design, programming, and using computer assisted design equipment and tools under the supervision of the project team leader.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Creates preliminary or final drawings using computer aided design tools (Solidworks) Shows dimensions, angles, curvatures, relationships Utilizes knowledge of machine design practices to creatively address project challenges Strong mathematical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Designs fixtures, and tooling Selects materials and components to be used in the construction of equipment Creates detail bill of materials Responsible for issuing and revising drawings as a controlled document Understands ISO 9001 procedures Communicate with customer to determine specifications Require knowledge of metal properties Require knowledge of layout, machining, and assembly Test and try out equipment Assemble components
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred. Equivalent work experience accepted especially if background is in machining or tool and die industries.
