The ideal candidate for this position will;
Analyze historical sales patterns and current product / market trends to develop accurate promotional and replenishment forecasts
Work on SDF/CML to create / evaluate replenishment forecasts
Work on PMM to develop promotion forecasts
Determine appropriate statistical methods/forecast algorithms based upon item characteristics/history patterns
Evaluate impact of promotional strategy on the forecast including displays, various promotion types, etc.
Understand their categories and items- trends, ad plans, category role, sales objectives, sales drivers and life cycle plans, becoming a category expert
Review merchandising plans and meet category managers to present and agree on forecast numbers
Review incomplete forecast report to meet critical ad bulletin dates
Work with inventory analytics teams to uncover and eliminate root cause for forecast inaccuracies.
Potentially support category managers overseas on seasonal buys
Work with vendors and assist Category Managers in determining clones for new item forecasts, providing clone options and historical sales patterns
Reevaluate and adjust forecasts based on changes in item demand, retail/promotional changes, and promotion changes
Complete multiple distributions for the Inventory Specialists based on local buys - e.g. Hawaii and Puerto Rico
Assist Inventory Specialists with forecasts / allocations for discontinued items
Take responsibility for forecasting roughly 10% of the self serve volume that is purchased into the DCs (each forecaster)
 


Determine forecasts for replenishment and promotion sales which will be a critical input for inventory specialist to determine the size of the buy and ensure products are stocked in stores and DC's (each forecasters will have responsibility to forecast approximately 10% of the total buy in self service





Required:
Analytical thinking with capability to interpret trends / data patterns
Quantitative skills
Good communication skills
Ability to handle stress and peak workloads
Preferred:
Undergraduate degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, economics, marketing or retail 
Experience in forecasting roles
Knowledge on PMM and CML systems
Willingness to travel overseas
