Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Product Specialist that will be responsible for Electronic Presence Sensors, Limit Switches and Fluid Control products sold into the Commercial and Industrial marketplace. This position is accountable for all phases of product planning, sustaining, and obsolescence. This position will specify new products and work closely with development and continuous engineering to ensure customer needs and expectations are addressed in the development cycle. The product specialist is responsible for coordinating product launch activities, and will assist in attaining and maintaining revenue goals and contribution margin objectives for assigned products. The product specialist will be instrumental in the creation of technical and marketing literature for each product, complete competitive comparisons, and provide technical training for sales, distribution, and support teams.



The candidate for this position should have the ability to understand and analyze market trends and competitive offers, as well as the ability to coordinate with product development teams across multiple locations and cultures.



Primary Duties:




• Specific activities include understanding target customer and market needs, defining Marketing Requirements for the product offer, ensuring alignment of the product offer with the primary customer requirements




• Responsible for both product and project management, market research, competitive benchmarking and preparation of new products for market introduction




• Work cross culturally with a Global product department and create and complete all the necessary tasks to release new and or existing products for local distribution




• Interface with "Segment Marketing" teams to launch new products or launch existing products into new and existing target market segments




• Prepare and execute formal product development, continuous engineering projects including specification creation, business justification, submittal for formal project management




• Participate on Product Development projects teams as the product management/marketing representative




• Analyzing competitive offerings, identifying product gaps, generating product offer and life cycle roadmaps




• Work directly with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and finance when required to support product lines and manage individual product development projects




• Deliver to the organization: product technical literature, product pricing profiles, channel recommendations, competitive analysis, product/market evaluations and product strategy recommendations




• Participate and assist in technical product support, application support, and training when appropriate




• Visit strategic customers within target market segments in concert with Sales and or "Segment Marketing" as required




• Assist in inventory management and provide forecasts of assigned products as needed





Educational Requirements: Four-Year Degree or Equivalent, BSEE, BSME preferred.



Experience Requirements: 3-5 years experience in Electrical Controls and/or Automation



Additional Qualifications: It is preferred that the candidate have experience in the industrial automation marketplace. A clear understanding of how industrial control products are applied and used is appreciated. Knowledge of and experience with industrial automation equipment including Electronic Sensors and PLCs is a plus. The ideal candidate would have prior experience with Presence Sensing products.

• Experience with industrial control products in a marketing, sales or engineering position.


• Demonstrate understanding of electrical control and automation systems.


• Excellent written and oral communication skills and a desire to train

and share knowledge with others


• Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment with the ability to lead

implement, and execute plans and tasks.


• Personal Computer skills essential, especially in Microsoft Windows environment.


• Capable and willing to travel (25% of time), including internationally.


• French, Spanish language skills desirable.
