Department

Vestas Global Research is responsible of bringing Vestas' technology leadership to an even higher level. Vestas Global Research is creating the technology breakthroughs transforming the Wind Power Industry of tomorrow by running an extensive portfolio of research programmes and blue sky projects.

 

Global Research is responsible for technology opportunities from the early phases in the research front-end, proof-of-concept and technology project until technology integration in product development. Global Research is an integrated part of Vestas Technology R&D.

 

The Analysis department is a part the Power Plant area which is responsible for the development of wind power plant concepts for compliance with utility connection codes, and for development of wind power system models and calculation tools for simulation of wind power integration. As an R&D entity, it assists Vestas sales units' technical support to supply advanced wind farm power plant solutions. The working area covers substation equipment rating and specification, protection coordination guidelines, power apparatus supplier qualification and selection, and not least, power plant solutions leading to compliance with connection codes.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Prepare Vestas’ wind power plant technologies
  • Development and design of Wind power plant controllers
  • Analysis existing design of controllers for Wind Power Plant solutions
  • Tools and guidelines for wind power plant engineering
  • Wind power plant grid integration studies
  • Establish & maintain portfolio of strategic research projects
  • Create IPR profile & portfolio
  • Establish pilot projects
  • Identify and build network through business & academic alliances

 

If you have any experience from power transmission or production companies it will be an advance.

 

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • You have either a PhD or M.Sc.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of practical experience with control concepts and solutions is required
  • You have the desire and the ability to understand a wide range of multidisciplinary technical disciplines within a complete wind turbine
  • You are very conscious about quality and thorough in your work and you find it easy to work with other people in a project organisation
  • You have a high level of drive and you aim at constant challenges while maintaining a high and effective profile
  • You are always prepared to explore new ways to achieve results
  • You are independent and structured, and you have an infectious sense of humour
  • You are flexible, you enjoy teamwork and you are willing to travel abroad 10% of your time
