Position Description:
The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Technician for
our Professional Liability division in our Grand Rapids office.


The Professional Liability Underwriting Technician supports the
Underwriters by providing various technical administrative assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Underwriter thru data collection and file prep work
  • Analyze data (loss and disciplinary history, risk management practices), and prepare
    account recommendations for Underwriter
  • Determine premium charge using both manual and automated methods.
  • Customer service support for agents and insureds
  • Assist Underwriter in delivering timely and accurate products to agents and insureds
    (policies, quotes, endorsements)
  • Accurate database input
  • Take agent calls and resolve issues
  • Take on assignments to increase efficiency and improve service.

    Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years insurance experience, commercial lines preferred
  • Basic Underwriter concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Functional knowledge of product offerings and solid business acumen
  • Analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
