Spons Res Admin (Dept/Sch)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for pre-award and post-award administration and processing for a department, division or school. Assists departments with administrative activities associated with research projects. Assists with pre-award activities including developing and submitting grant proposals; assists with post-award activities, such as monitoring grant awards and expenditures for accuracy and compliance with standards. Assists in preparing and monitoring budgets. Serves as project liaison to other departments, outside organizations, government agencies and product representatives. Prepares operational and statistical reports for management and product representatives. Maintains database of information for departmental faculty, staff and principal investigators. May supervise staff by orienting, training and giving ongoing performance feedback. Performs other general administrative duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and 2 years of research administration experience, or a combination of training, education and experience. Knowledge of regulatory requirement regarding post award administration, familiarity with NIH grant policies, procurement, accounts payable/receivable, and general business practices; knowledge of computers including experience with Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Word, Excel); excellent verbal and written communication skills required; Strong organizational skills and ability to function as part of a team. Customer service experience with MD/PhD research population is preferred.
