Sprinkler Fitter

About the Job

- Perform new installations, retrofit and repair of wet, dry,
pre-action and deluge fire sprinkler systems. 


- Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly
dispose of all debris associated with work.


 - Maintain proper
documentation for all work performed


- Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand
construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation
activities


- Properly secure all SimplexGrinnell tools and equipment at
the end of each work period


- Extensive travel throughout MN required


- Complete and submit time reports and safety documents as
required


 - May be required to
work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer service/installation
requirements


- Perform other duties as directed










What we look for


Required


- A high school diploma or G.E.D.


- Completion of a nationally recognized Apprentice
program 


- Minimum 5 years documented experience in installation and
service of fire sprinkler systems 


- Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that
meets company requirements.


- Experience training and mentoring apprentices


- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying
and moving equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.


- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions
such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet,
working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. 


- Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and
specifications used in installation activities


- Ability to work flexible hours. Typical work week is 4-10
hour days


- Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety
guidelines and procedures at all times


- Excellent communication skills, using tact and diplomacy
when dealing with customers and team members


- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an
ability to learn quickly


- Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all
time


- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer
service. 


 


Preferred


-  GA fire sprinkler license 


- Able to obtain and retain GA license within six months
of hire
