Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, this position will be responsible for the following:

• Preparation of various reporting such as monthly internal financial reporting package which includes preparation of consolidations, variance analyses as well as regulatory reporting, budget reporting, etc.
• Participate in the monthly, quarterly and year-end COGNOS closing and reporting process required for both US Operations and Corporate reporting
• Preparation of quarterly US GAAP statutory financial statements including footnote preparation
• Perform quarterly SOX testing
• Prepare year end external audited financial statements and footnotes
• Preparation of accounting position papers ( “white papers”) as needed
• Research complex US GAAP, Canadian GAAP and IFRS accounting positions
• Perform loan covenant testing on a quarterly basis and on as needed basis for distributions
• Supporting  the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting in various related activities

• Strong knowledge of accounting for consolidated financial statements
• Ability to research complex problems and deliver solutions and recommendations in clear and concise memorandums
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Detail oriented and organized
• Team player capable of managing priorities and meeting tight deadlines
• Works well independently and multi-tasks effectively

• Recognized professional designation (CPA) preferred
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Canadian GAAP and IFRS and financial statement disclosure
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Knowledge of Cognos Controller (or similar consolidation software such as Hyperion) is required
• Great Plains knowledge would be an asset
